Dr. C. S. PRAJAPATI
C. S. Prajapati born in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, India, received his Ph.D. Degree in Physics (Semiconductor Gas Sensors) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, U.P., India. He completed his M.Sc. degree in Physics (Electronics) from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur, India. He joined IIT Patna as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics in November 2022. Prior to that, he did his postdoctoral research (2014-2018) at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore Karnataka, India. He was also a visiting researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.
He is the recipient of the DST-INSPIRE Faculty awards (2018) from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and worked as Inspire Faculty (2018-2022) at CeNSE, IISc Bangalore.
He had published more than 24 Journal research articles, and 5 Conference papers, and has 2 US patents published (1 US granted) to his credit. He has contributed significantly to the development of gas sensor prototype(s) for the application of H2, O2, NO2, and N2H4 leak monitoring at the Sriharikota, ISRO launch site. He has also transferred a technology related to that (TRL-8: System/subsystem model or prototype demonstration in a relevant environment) to the Semi-Conductor Laboratory, Department of Space, GOI, Chandigarh. His contribution towards the development of indigenous gas sensor technologies open up space for low-cost air quality monitoring systems (AQM) and noninvasive breath analysis products/prototypes and received positive feedback from users/customers. He is currently engaged to develop sensing technologies for space applications.
He is a recipient of the Sir C. V. Raman Commemoration and the Kailashpat Singhania Gold Medals, awarded by Kanpur University.
